New Chapter!

I'm well into my 6th Chapter, this subject matter is going to be very detailed. I'll have to go over this a few times to keep the writing powerful and easy to understand. (this could get a little deep) I'll have to do more research to make it well rounded,(I'll need different points of view.)

This month is almost over? We're moving fast! You know, If I hadn't spent so much time trying to edit this book on my own last year. I'd probably be finished by now! : ) I need to remember that mistake and just write all the way through this time. I want to be finished writing before March 31st(It's doable)
I haven't been writing every single day as I had planned. I need to get back to that, but when I am writing it is for several hours. (but at this point every day is going to make a huge difference)

The real work I'm told is publishing and Marketing. I'm looking forward to that.
(oh and I need to save up the money to get it published, another minor detail. : )

Woooh

Okay, that was a close one! I believe I missed 1 or 2 days of writing in my book. (fear temporarily gripped my heart!) You other writers know the game? You miss a few days of writing and it can be down hill from there!

I have a bad habit of "justified piddling." That is, filling my days with work that does not contribute to my primary goals. These types of distractions seem to seek me out and lure me away all the time! I soon become interested in some "other" project, and before I know it, several hours has passed and I'm calling it a day. But this year I am more focused!

Sure some days are going to be worse than others, but I won't allow the bad days to set this years tone for me. I will shake it off, and get back up!

Yesterday I was very good; I resisted the temptation to "piddle" after a morning meeting that ran into the afternoon. Once I picked up my lunch, I wanted to come home, eat, and rest(maybe catch a show) Well, I resisted that time stealer by placing my food on my desk, right next to my lap top!

After I finished eating. I jumped right in! I wrote for 2 hours which puts me very close to finishing the chapter I'm in. I was very proud of my self.

Isn't that what it takes most of the time? Jumping right in? You've gotta do it, before you have too much time to think! If not, you'll think of many reasons why you should be doing something else!

Absent

Darn. Okay. I didn't write in my book today. I was completely thrown off my schedule. I had a job interview that was a complete waste of my time. I didn't get back home until this afternoon. I had to catch up on my bibleonradio lessons. Then for the rest of the afternoon, I talked on the phone with my mother about ministry and other life issues. We talked for hours! (essshh, I brace my self for when my husband opens that cell phone bill!) lol

Maybe I'll try to write 4 hours tomorrow; that'll make up for today!

Yes!

Another successful day in writing! Thank God I stuck to my guns. I was determined to carve out(no less than) 2 hours of work on my book today. After my prayer and study time, I quickly turned on my classical music(for concentration and inspiration). Then, I prayed for God's anointing, and got cracking. Despite a couple interruptions from phone calls, I was able to write for more than 2 hours! I didn't want to stop. The perfect words just flowed, but of course there are other things I must do! This is wonderful. I am very excited. I've already started hatching ideas for my next book!(I have 3) I love living for God, with it comes so much power, do to His work!

So far So good!

Well friends, I'm off! I made a commitment to finish my book this year. I had this same goal last year, and well..you know how it goes. I procrastinated so much that I definitely was not surprised when I didn't accomplish it. However, I will not be singing this same song in Jan of 2009. My book will be published, and I'll have if nothing else atleast 1 copy sold! (of course I am being very modest : )

I've been involved with a wonderful writing circle(mywritingcircle.com) that has helped me tremendously. I am a non-fiction Christian writer, so my genre is different from most on the site, but they've been able to assist with no hang ups.

Yesterday, I wrote for atleast 2 hours in my book, with no writers block..the words just came! Thank you Jesus for your inspiration. I am actually half way through the book since I did work on it "some"last year. My biggest challenge is stopping to edit which most writers know can eat up most of your writing time. I'm a writer with a message, not a grammar scholar--so I have to think about how my sentences are structured. (structure is often forgotten when you're focused on a passionate message-I've learned to write, and then go back to repair the damage!)

I've found a wonderful book that assist with the sound of writing, (amongst other things.) It's called The First Five Pages, by Noah Lukeman. It is wonderful! I've learned so much, and my manuscript looks better already!

Today, I met a woman who owns her own Christian Publishing house. Dr. Vivi Congress, she specializes in helping Ministers and Pastors get their words in print-uncompromised. That sounds like something I am interested in. I'm doing my research and keeping my options open, because once this book is finished I want to dive right into publication. At that point, I don't want to waste my time figuring out who I should send my book to. (Cost to publsih & market also play a large role, I'm not rich..... Yet!)
